Coronary artery disease (CAD)

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a long-term sickness that affects the coronary arteries in your heart. The build-up of cholesterol inside of the arteries keeps the blood from getting to the heart and may lead to heart failure.

Some symptoms of coronary artery disease are:

  • Chest pressure and/or pain with activity or when at rest
  • Heartburn
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Shortness of breath
  • Heavy sweating

It is also possible to have no symptoms. That is why it is so important to have regular check-ups with your doctor.

If you are a member with CAD, call the Keystone First care management department to sign up for the program. The number is 1-800-573-4100. We want to help you live a healthy life. Call to speak to a care manager today.
